It's My Time

I was having a conversation with a  30 something , single mother who said, “It’s my time now.  She said she had organized her life around her son.  The jobs she took, the decisions she made, and the company she kept was all surrounded by what was best for him.  “Now that he’s going to college, it’s my time!

Another woman asked me to pray that her husband who had been separated from her for 20 years to come back home.   The husband no longer lived in the same city, moved on with his life and had no idea that she was making this request.

Five years ago, Miles Monroe spoke these very prophetic words to me. He said “God said it’s your time.  You have raised the children, protected your husbands ministry now it is you time to fulfill God’s plan in your life".    That rhema word validated me, empowered me and confirmed what God had already spoken to my heart.

It was my time for healing
My time for deliverance
My time to walk in my call and destiny
My time to take my rightful place in my Father’s kingdom.

God has called me to bring hope and healing to hurting, downtrodden, disoriented women.

What time is it?  Have you been serving others to the point where you are stuck?  Have you given up your dream for someone else’s vision?  Do you feel ill equipped to accomplish the dream in your heart?  Are you at a lost of where to start or what to do?  You may be like the women above who is still waiting for 20 years for a husband who have moved on with his life.  You may be trying to raise a dead marriage.  The bible said let the dead bury the dead.  The grave is filled with educators, doctors, artists and business owners who died never fulfilling their dream. My friend it’s not too late.

This is where you can start:

Get selfish – Let others fend for themselves for a change.  It is about you.  It is about you fulfilling the dream God put in your heart well before the beginning of the time.  You can’t be sweeter than Jesus.  It’s allright to focus on you.  Maybe you need to go back to school.  Get another job.  Go to an empowerment conference.  You must do something to ignite your passion.

Get a cheerleader – Have people in your life who celebrate you and your dreams.  Surround yourself with friends or family who see the good in you.  Everyone needs encouragement.  Leave your complaining lethargic friends alone. Connect with people who challenge and motivate you to reach higher.

Make your move  – Start small.  Make baby steps. Don’t just sit waiting for change  come.  You have to move out.   "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin "(Zechariah 4-10)    I started with just eight women four years ago and we hosted 400 women in October, 2007.   Ask God for wisdom and direction in every step you take.
